5 Ways To Customise Your Solitaire Ring
Share
At Kolmio, we are passionate about creating timeless designs that will stand the test of time and that will always be beautiful during all seasons of life. The solitaire engagement ring is one of those timeless pieces. It's the kind your grandmother probably had, a single beautiful stone that never goes out of style.
We're known for our take on the classic solitaire. We've designed it so your wedding band fits perfectly flush against the engagement ring, giving it a clean, smooth look. But it also looks beautiful worn on its own. We love to customise this signature design for our clients that choose a solitaire ring, to really make it their own.
Here are 5 simple ways to make your solitaire ring your own:
Stone Shape and Colour
By choosing a different diamond shape - oval, pear, radiant, marquise etc. you are instantly changing the look and feel of the ring. You can also choose a warmer white diamond, a fancy yellow one, a black diamond, or even a coloured gem like a sapphire to give it your personal touch.

Number of Prongs, their Shape and Orientation
The prongs make a big difference. You can create a completely different look by using cat claws, instead of round, for example. You can also play with how many prongs there are or how they’re positioned to shift the ring’s personality.

Add Details in the Setting
If you like a bit of extra charm, we can add small petal-like details to the setting or hand engrave delicate filigree patterns on the band. These touches give it a vintage, romantic feel without overwhelming the classic solitaire look.
Add a Hidden Halo
A hidden halo means tiny diamonds (or sapphires) tucked under the main stone. It's a sweet, private detail only you really notice when you look at your hand, adding extra sparkle from the side without changing the simple solitaire style.
Change the Band Width
Going for a slightly wider band can add some character and make the ring feel more unique. It's a small change that instantly updates the overall look.

You don’t have to make big changes to a simple design to make it your own. By changing small elements, you can appreciate a classic design without feeling like you’re wearing the same ring as everyone else. It's all about what feels right for you.
