Reach Out
Send your inspiration & ideas, along with an estimated budget to tracey@kolmio.co.za. We’ll explore details from the designs you love to the meaning behind it so we can source a stone that truly fits.

Choose Your Diamond
We’ll source a selection of stones that align with your vision and budget. You’ll receive detailed photos and videos, along with thoughtful guidance and advice to help you choose the one that feels like yours.

Costing & Design
Once your diamond is selected, we’ll send a quote and begin the design with an 80% deposit. You’ll receive a visual of your piece before we move into production. This takes around one week.

Production & Delivery
Your bespoke piece is crafted with care and precision. It’s ready in around three weeks, then shipped to you fully insured once the balance is paid.

FAQs

How long does it take to make a custom design?

From hand selecting your diamond, to manufacturing your ring -  the custom design process takes approximately 6 weeks.

What materials do you work with?

Quality is everything for us! We only use 9 & 18ct white, rose or yellow gold and platinum for our designs. We work with natural diamonds, semi-precious and precious gemstones. All materials used by Kolmio are ethically and responsibly sourced and great care is taken with the custom manufacturing of each piece.

What diamonds do you use?

At Kolmio we work exclusively with natural diamonds. We mostly use IJ colour smalls for our work, although any piece can be made with GH colour diamonds. The colour of diamonds used for each piece in our collections is listed in the product's description.

Are your diamonds and metals ethically sourced?

Yes! We rely on ethically-sourced materials, using exclusively natural diamonds sourced from our trusted network of suppliers who are participants in the Kimberley Process, ensuring the stones are conflict-free. Our metal suppliers use recycled gold and by using these materials we are making jewellery that is beautiful and environmentally responsible.

Are your diamonds certified?

Diamonds that are 0.30ct and bigger are certified by reputable laboratories in South Africa (GIA and EGL).

Can I make a ring with my own diamond?

We don't accept client-sourced stones. For sentimental reasons, we reset heirloom diamonds on a case-by-case basis.

What if I want to reset my current engagement ring or heirloom piece?

One of the things we love most about precious metals is that you can recycle it, to make a new piece that reflect your personal syle.

When working with a heirloom piece, it will be inspected first, before we do any work. Generally we don't reset smalls, only from 0.10ct and up, providing that the stones are in good condition. Any old metal will be sent in for refining, in order for us to work with a pure alloy. You therefore get discounted on your metal cost. Kindly reach out to us to see what is possible.
